Dr. Verma, a postgraduate in Veterinary Science and a veteran of General Insurance sector, has 38 years of diversified experience. He has served the academic institutions (Gujarat Agriculture University, Anand, JN Agriculture University, Jabalpur), Govt. veterinary department, Bhopal, Insurance companies (Oriental Insurance Company and Future Generali India Insurance Company) and an international NGO (Swisscontact Worldwide) in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is an Associate member of the Insurance Institute of India. Publication of a couple of scientific research papers and authored articles are also to his credit.

After serving 25 years with Oriental Insurance Co., Dr. Verma exited as Sr Divisional Manager in 2008 and joined Future Generali India Insurance Co. in its corporate office, Mumbai as rural business head. He set up an entire business vertical for product designing and filing with the regulator, developing various business processes, business development and claims handling. 

He extensively worked for rural business development notably Agriculture insurance and micro-insurance for rural and semi-urban areas. Many innovative channels like Common Service Centres were explored for the distribution of insurance products. Under his leadership, the Crop Insurance Program was implemented successfully for the company with his team of professionals. He has made a contribution towards financial inclusion by participating in various Govt. sponsored schemes, tied up with many MFIs, NGOs and Rural banks to distribute various customized low ticket size products to their customers. 

Immediately before laying the foundation of ARTHGRAM he led a Swiss Government funded development project on crop, livestock and disaster insurance in Bangladesh as international team leader for implementing pilots of crop and livestock insurance and feasibility study on extreme flood insurance product.
